During Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Awareness Week 2026 (observed April 14-20), the New York State Department of Health convened a virtual expert roundtable panel focused on strengthening prevention, expanding testing, stigma reduction, and addressing the persistent disparities in STI-related outcomes.

Panelists highlighted practical strategies such as increasing routine screening and expanding access to prevention tools like Doxy-PEP (Doxycycline Post-Exposure Prophylaxis), as well as innovative treatment programs like New York State’s Expedited Partner Treatment (EPT).
